NWFCC is a great resource site for anyone interested in the world of children's books. The site offers informative tips, articles, and other resources for both aspiring children's book authors and published children's book authors. It also features weekly teaching tips for classroom teachers and home-schooling parents. They also offer a free weekly newsletter.

The Purple Crayon
A site dedicatated to providing the basics about children's publishing from soup to nuts. Harold Underdown is the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Publishing Children's Books, and a consulting editor who has previously worked at ipicturebook, Charlesbridge, Orchard Books and Macmillan. The site provides how-to's articles, who's moving where notices, and a wide variety of informative articles for children's book writers.

Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators
With over 22,000 members worldwide, the SCBWI is a professional organization for individuals writing and illustrating for children and young adults in the fields of children’s literature, magazines, film, television, and multimedia. It promotes the exchange of knowledge and information between writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved in literature for children and young adults. The site offers invaluable resources, as well as information about conferences and regional events for members.
