So hard to let go, but I know each story I've written since has been stronger, even if I can't always put it into words.Bluestockinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01225973854788421827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-32942146068840296402012-02-14T18:05:28.369-05:002012-02-14T18:05:28.369-05:00This is great advice. While I never completely wrote my manuscript, the long periods between revisions helped me see what I needed to change and how I've grown as a writer (at least I hope so).Natalie Aguirrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03756087804171246660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-42004746939901011172012-02-14T12:50:00.013-05:002012-02-14T12:50:00.013-05:00Wow, Martina. You hit hard in so many places with what it means to progress as a writer, but I especially loved the idea of stepping back and considering what we haven't put on the page, expanding our imaginations even more. And knowing that we can always revisit and revise, even as we move on to newer experiences.S.P. It's a part of what makes me, well, me. Whether I end up agented and published, going indie or not getting published, I love to write.Angela Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03324366495151363782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-85011488086331242582012-02-14T11:51:14.056-05:002012-02-14T11:51:14.056-05:00Thank you, Martina. WHY do ...Thank you, Martina. I needed this today.

WHY do I write? I think it is because I have so many imaginary friends who keep insisting I share their stories with others. Yet, when I write the story, there is always someone else telling me I didn't get it quite right. So I go back to my imaginary friends and say, "Hey, tell me that story again, 'cause I didn't get it right the first time." Then I try again, listening more closely with each round. Hopefully, I will one day convince someone that I have gotten my friends' stories right.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-90552520853448161012012-02-14T11:33:46.194-05:002012-02-14T11:33:46.194-05:00That's what I keep saying to myself, I'm s...That's what I keep saying to myself, I'm stuck at the moment - saying 'what happens next?' to myself and I'm writing the thing! :0)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07957545161716269528noreply@blogger.com
