I've read DIVERGENT too, which would also generate some good discussion. Maybe do one of those poll things? Dunno. Or just plan a few books and see what happens. There's always going to be some who have read and some who haven't.

Ha, don't feel like a dork, Martina! Or have you ready any of the three we've discussed?

Carole Anne, we could certainly discuss Tess, although I'm not sure there's be many people jumping in on that one. Interesting inspiration, though. I have to admire it! Gotta love the reminder about Hardy, too. His first novel never got published and he killed it completely when it was rejected. Wonder who was ultimately more upset about that. :DMartina Boonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358736828122139189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-26588365658048832262011-08-18T17:29:14.380-04:002011-08-18T17:29:14.380-04:00Great idea, at the moment ploughing - oops sorry -...Great idea, at the moment ploughing - oops sorry - through Hardy for inspiration for my latest children's novel, so you see, ideas can come from unlikely places. :0)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07957545161716269528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-7913590390288110362011-08-18T15:54:00.690-04:002011-08-18T15:54:00.690-04:00I love this idea. I haven't read Entwined yet, although I do love fairy tale retellings and the dancing princesses in particular have a very rich symbolism and foundation in folklore and religion.

Carol, I feel like a dork for being so cryptic. I was talking about Libba Bray's Going Bovine, which breaks so many of the conventional "rules" and becomes a masterpiece of creative storytelling. Not to mention that I will never look at a gnome or a snowglobe or a bowling alley the same way.

Anyone else, chime in. I know we're all over at the brilliance that is WriteOnCon, but we need some tiebreakers!

MarinaMartina Boonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358736828122139189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-80066023712311517002011-08-18T14:08:32.438-04:002011-08-18T14:08:32.438-04:00Wow, this sounds really fun! Not sure what book you're talking about for the first one, which probably means I live under a rock and that I haven't read it. ;o) I just recently finished ENTWINED by Heather Dixon, if enough people have read that and want to discuss it.Carol Riggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14092209912983783974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-75866056276184912532011-08-18T14:07:38.124-04:002011-08-18T14:07:38.124-04:00Great idea!
