Maybe some other writers write well enough to hide weak scenes, but I'm not one of them. Definitely skip the boring scenes if...Great advice! Definitely skip the boring scenes if possible. To make a flat scene come alive, adding another layer or element can definitely help. For me, it isn't usually humor but I try to find something that fits with my style of writing. I often place a scene in a cool or unusual setting, or bring in a sub-plot. Be creative -- that's the best part of writing!
