Liked the part (and reasons for) keeping track of scenes and outcomes. But this all sounds like you're a plotter-not a panster! or Maybe this is what you do so you can let yourself go. ANyway, thanks for the info and this is off to my fiction writing wiki!Carol Baldwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10444182118975929045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-24373939921967665752013-09-04T09:56:39.702-04:002013-09-04T09:56:39.702-04:00You are amazing! As you say, everyone will find their own style (I hope!) and I can see some hints in here to help me out. I plan the outline and pants the story, because the outline is more of guidelines than actual rules. :-)

I do have to have my plot mapped, though, because they have to follow a logical progression. It's one reason I admire Brad Bird so fervently, because he follows things through to the logical conclusion. Look at the scene in the Incredibles when Elastigirl is caught in the automatic doors. I do a sort of mental calculation like this as I write -- goals, mood, place, time, change, etc. When I revise I go through and write down what happens in each chapter so I can trace the character and plot arcs through each one. But this seems so much more organized and even a better way for me to organize my chapters. Thanks! Bookmarking it. :)Luanne G.
