Hi! Lisa here with our June Agent Round Up. With BEA in full swing (so jealous of those that get to go and collect all those yummy books I wish I could get my hands on), I thought I'd ask a couple of our generous, contributing agents:
Which book do you wish you'd represented and why?
Christa Heschke of McIntosh & Otis, Inc.
The one that comes to mind right now, as I am so excited for her second book, is Jandy Nelson’s The Sky is Everywhere. I absolutely fell in love with that book. Lennie’s story was emotional and real, the romance sweet…I was completely immersed. Also Lennie plays clarinet (as do I since the 5th grade) and is a bookworm so that drew me in as well. I felt that I could relate to her in many different ways.
Suzie Townsend of New Leaf Literary and Media
A book that got away for me was definitely Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I read that at the query stage and absolutely loved it. The writing is so fantastic and the romance is definitely swoony. I also have crazy love for Alexandra Bracken's The Darkest Minds series and Jessica Spotswood's Sisters Fate series. And of course I would read a phone book if Melina Marchetta wrote it. So if anyone can write like these ladies, you know where to find me :)
More books for my TBR list.
