12 This Week for Writers Suspended

Hi Everyone,

It is with deep regret that Clara and I have decided to suspend the Friday round-ups indefinitely, at least in their current format. We are both swamped right now, and there are so many great blog posts being put up that we feel we can't do them justice at the moment.

We are throwing around ideas on what to replace them with. We will definitely resume book giveaways shortly, as well as book reviews. We're also considering doing more author interviews. Or perhaps writing contests? Book discussions?

What would you like to see? Please give us a hand in deciding? We'd love it if you would share your insight and interests. Also, we are still throwing around the idea of adding some additional blog partners, but because of Google's integrated profiling etc. etc. we weren't able to figure out how to handle sharing Google reading for the Friday-roundup. Instead, we are going to have to do it on a per-article/day-of-the-week basis. If you have an idea for a specific post series that you would like to write for us, or if you would be interested in doing author interviews or something along those lines, please email me.

Now, for the winners of our last giveaway.

The winner of The Marbury Lens is Todd Dillard.

The winner of Hourglass is Jess Keating.

One thing: I am going to institute a policy about doing the post office run in the first week of the month and see if I can stick to that schedule. So winners, please bear with me a little bit.  Your books will be out shortly.

Happy Friday!

Martina and Clara

  1. Martina and Clara, you have contributed so much to the writing community. This blog is already so full of great information, and I often come to it just to look up info when I remember that you have covered the topic before. Sometimes I even come back to read interviews when I need encouragement. So thanks for all you've done. And don't sweat it if you decide not to replace the Friday links.

    Have a great weekend,

  2. Congrats to the winners! I'll have to try and think of something for a new post series. Hmmm... You ladies are awesome!

  3. Bless you both--you've already done so much! Just want you to know we enjoy dropping in here for inspiration whether there's a weekly round up or not :-)

  4. Martina and Clara, don't feel bad if you can't continue the round-up. It seems like a lot of work and a lot of reading of blogs for you both.

I really enjoy the book giveaways, reviews and author interviews. Maybe those would be easier to do and would be a great way to promote authors. Thanks for all your hard work.

  5. I really appreciate your contributions. Have found valuable information through your round-ups. I like the idea of some writing contests. Also, what about some suggestions for school visit activities.

  6. Aww...there are other round-ups, but this was the first one that I put onto my blogroll, so I would be definitely be missing it. And Mystery Writing is Murder's Twitterific is on Sunday, so I'll have to wait for that to find new blogs to add to my own round-up.

What type of people do you allow to guest post?

  7. You've been thorough, and I'm amazed at what you've done to this point, but it must be a ton of work. What if you gave your top ten favorites each week and that week's hot contest or giveaway.

    Just a thought. : )

  8. Not sure about your usual routine, but the Hourglass book made me think of 'favorite covers' and what makes them special. Takes less work than talking about the novel content. I'm definitely adding Hourglass to my Pinterest board of favorite covers!
    Wagging Tales

  9. We will definitely miss your links, but we certainly understand. No worries! When you're swamped, you have to cut something somewhere. Best wishes and hugs. :)

  10. You are rockstars. I have a treasure chest of bookmarked posts from your bounty. You owe yourselves more "you" time.

  11. Thank you all so much! Tons of great suggestions--I love the cover inspiration (and Charmaine, isn't the Hourglass cover awesome? It's actually sparkly, too. :D) and the interviews etc. We'll be talking this week and trying to come up with something great to promote other writers and books we love without killing ourselves in the process. I don't know how you all manage it. Seriously.

  12. THose round up posts must take forever. All that linking would have caused carpal tunnel in no time! :) No worries - do what's best for you! :)

    Congrats to the lucky winners!

Tell us what you think. We'd love to hear from you! :)
