Writing is as much about feeling as it is writing.

AngelaAngela Ackermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01808259088625142389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-53338501727947146162013-02-06T20:26:25.526-05:002013-02-06T20:26:25.526-05:00Very nice post and very helpful. I recently had a similar experience regarding point of view. I typically write in 1st person past, but multiple readers suggested I change my current work to 1st person present. Having my POV character experience everything in real-time pulled so much more life and emotion out of him and me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11206424131510212755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-15678059311990967672013-02-06T12:32:06.087-05:002013-02-06T12:32:06.087-05:00Although we do want things to go terribly wrong, r...Although we do want things to go terribly wrong, right? At least in service to the overall goal. Often, I find that when my characters start to behave differently from how I envisioned them behaving, it's because I was trying to fit them into a rigid framework that they, being who they are, couldn't live within. One of the pitfalls of not being a panther. :)Martina Boonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358736828122139189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-29680162201937193952013-02-06T12:29:56.261-05:002013-02-06T12:29:56.261-05:00That's a great feeling, isn't it? They can react to a situation in a bunch of ways, sometimes unexpected ways just like in life. I usually do trial and error in my head. S.A.
