I think it makes way more sense than always having catty or rivalry relationships with one another. Don't get me wrong, those are in there too. Romance seems to have overtaken the YA genre, which is fine, but we seem to be missing friendship as a vital element of growing up. Let's face it, few of us can relate to real romance at that age.
