So close, but no rewards yet. It is rough and takes a LOT of faith. I think that when you start getting nice notes from agents that means you are getting very close.L.B. Seems to me that in this world of so much competition, if you aren't constantly improving, you just won't get there. I am always telling my kids that if they don't look at their bad test grades, then they can't figure out how to improve the next time. Of course, they don't pay any attention to me, but I digress. I know what I need to work on in my story, it's just a matter of getting it there. I love it, and I'm not giving up, but it's a tough spot when you feel so close but you're not quite there. I'm so glad I stumbled on this post today. I'm going to follow you on twitter now :)Stephscohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06328839483008086049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-53019899506395643322012-12-13T11:14:14.443-05:002012-12-13T11:14:14.443-05:00And I am going to make a note of what you said in ...And I am going to make a note of what you said in this comment, Karen -- you are absolutely inspiring yourself!

Hugs,

MartinaMartina Boonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358736828122139189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-52848468095933456692012-12-13T11:11:47.334-05:002012-12-13T11:11:47.334-05:00YAY Natalie!!!! I figure, if I haven't given up on my special needs son, I've gained the persistence I need, to not give up on a heart love story, started in '07
I'm a runner, too, but better with long distance running.
Inspiring drive, you have! Make sure you are happy with it, make it the best book you can make it, not the best book you can make it by April! Deadlines are good practice and they're great motivators, but make sure you take advantage of the fact that this is your first novel to enjoy the process without making yourself crazy! The fact that you are on the umpteenth draft already puts you ahead of the game!!!

Best,

MartinaMartina Boonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03358736828122139189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8005062827798430682.post-10530027191555042142012-12-12T20:43:51.959-05:002012-12-12T20:43:51.959-05:00Great post. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who didn't give up on a project they believed in. Good luck with your book.Natalie Aguirrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03756087804171246660noreply@blogger.com
