In this haunting and luminescent debut novel, a girl’s complicated family life starts to unravel after she finds herself falling for a mysterious boy who lives in the forest behind her house.

Leah Roberts’s life hasn’t been the same since her brother died ten years ago. Her mother won’t stop drinking, her father can’t let go of his bitter anger, and Leah herself has a secret she’s told no one: Sasquatches are real, and she’s been watching a trio of them in the woods behind her house for years.

Everything changes when Leah discovers that among the sasquatches lives a teenager. This alluring, enigmatic boy has no memory of his past and can barely speak, but Leah can’t shake his magnetic pull. Gradually, Leah’s life entwines with his, providing her the escape from reality she never knew she needed.

But when Leah’s two worlds suddenly collide in a deadly showdown, she uncovers a shocking truth as big and extraordinary as the legends themselves, one that could change her life forever.

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about The Shadows We Know by Heart?

I think it’s that I took an idea that most people don’t take seriously or believe, and made it into something serious and authentic, with so much more going on than what appears on the surface.

Echoes of Memory
by A.R. Kahler
Hardcover Giveaway
U.S. Only

Simon Pulse
Released 3/14/2017

After witnessing a terrible event that left Kaira changed in unimaginable ways, Chris knows he has to find a way to defy his destiny in this second novel in the suspenseful Ravenborn trilogy.

In the aftermath of the deaths plaguing Islington’s campus, a terrible pall has fallen over the students. Kaira is passed-out sick, and Chris—the only witness to the night Kaira invoked something otherworldly—is questioning his sanity. Everyone is willing to believe the deaths were normal, and without Kaira backing him up, his claims that there was something supernatural at work are getting harder and harder to believe. Even to himself.

Especially because now, the voices he’s locked away are getting louder. Stronger. Violent.

When the god plaguing his mind starts promising Chris a future of bloodshed, Chris knows he isn’t safe. He can’t be trusted. Especially not around Kaira, whom this god swears Chris will kill.

Chris only wants to keep his friends safe. Even at the cost of his own life.

But when the gods of the Underworld are involved, not even death is an escape. It’s just the start of another, darker, journey.

Enemy Exposure
by Meghan Rogers
Philomel Books
Released 3/14/2017

A spy and action thriller featuring a teenage girl who kicks butt and outsmarts with the best of them. To accomplish her mission, though, she'll need to team up with those she trusts the least in this latest Raven File case.

Jocelyn Steely (code name: Raven) may have escaped the clutches of KATO and won the trust of the IDA, but she isn’t out of danger yet. Her cover is blown and KATO agents are after her, but that won’t stop Jocelyn. After all, her goal was never merely to escape KATO. She wants revenge.

Dead set on rescuing the one girl that she—and the IDA—failed to save, Jocelyn is forced to recruit other KATO agents to her side. She must hand over just enough intelligence to gain their trust, while still preventing her plans from getting back to her former tormentors. Is she out of her league in this battle? Or does she have what it takes to derail KATO once and for all?

This high-stakes spy thriller will have readers on the edge of their seats until the final mind-blowing revelation.

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about Enemy Exposure?

My favorite thing about ENEMY EXPOSURE is the layer it adds to the Raven Files universe. In CROSSING THE LINE, the first book in the series, my main character, Jocelyn, is determined to escape KATO, which is the North Korean spy agency that kidnapped her as a child and turned her into a deadly spy. This book continues her journey. In it, we learn that Jocelyn wasn’t the only girl KATO kidnapped and forced to spy for them. It puts Jocelyn in an interesting situation. Are these girls people who might turn on KATO like she had? Or are they too entrenched in KATO’s mentality to be trusted? It was a lot of fun to add another level to KATO and see how it impacted Jocelyn and the rest of the characters!

Queens of Geek
by Jen Wilde
Swoon Reads
Released 3/14/2017

When BFFs Charlie, Taylor and Jamie go to SupaCon, they know it’s going to be a blast. What they don’t expect is for it to change their lives forever.

Charlie likes to stand out. SupaCon is her chance to show fans she’s over her public breakup with co-star, Jason Ryan. When Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie’s long-time crush on her isn’t as one-sided as she thought.

While Charlie dodges questions about her personal life, Taylor starts asking questions about her own.

Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there’s one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with Jamie—no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about the Queen Firestone SupaFan Contest, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about Queens of Geek?

Great question! I love all the fandom and geeky references, and of course all the kissing scenes. Writing about SupaCon was so much fun, and I got to inject all my favorite parts about going to cons while also creating new world within worlds to go with it.

But my absolute favorite thing is the friendship between Charlie, Taylor and Jamie. I love their constant support of one another and their unbreakable bond. Plus, they’d be so much fun to hang out with!

The Heartbeats of Wing Jones
by Katherine Webber
Delacorte Press
Released 3/14/2017

Jandy Nelson meets Friday Night Lights in this sweeping, warm, arrestingly original novel about family, strength, and hope.

Wing Jones, like everyone else in her town, has worshipped her older brother, Marcus, for as long as she can remember. Good-looking, popular, and the star of the football team, Marcus is everything his sister is not.

Until the night everything changes when Marcus, drunk at the wheel after a party, kills two people and barely survives himself. With Marcus now in a coma, Wing is crushed, confused, and angry. She is tormented at school for Marcus’s mistake, haunted at home by her mother and grandmothers’ grief. In addition to all this, Wing is scared that the bank is going to repossess her home because her family can’t afford Marcus’s mounting medical bills.

Every night, unable to sleep, Wing finds herself sneaking out to go to the school’s empty track. When Aaron, Marcus’s best friend, sees her running one night, he recognizes that her speed, skill, and agility could get her a spot on the track team. And better still, an opportunity at a coveted sponsorship from a major athletic gear company. Wing can’t pass up the opportunity to train with her longtime crush and to help her struggling family, but can she handle being thrust out of Marcus’s shadow and into the spotlight?

Author Question: What is your favorite thing about The Heartbeats of Wing Jones?

My favorite thing about THE HEARTBEATS OF WING JONES would have to be the relationship Wing has with her family. She is very close with her grandmothers, her Granny Dee and LaoLao, her brother Marcus, and her mother. I loved writing the scenes with Granny Dee and LaoLao, who clearly love and respect each other but also bicker like an old married couple. I also enjoyed exploring what it's like when you are a teenager and your family has always seen you a certain way, and you are starting to push against those perceptions. Wing loves her family very much, but sometimes they frustrate her, and often she feels like they don’t fully understand her. I think this is something a lot of teens can relate to, and I hope lots of readers relate to Wing.

A Psalm for Lost Girls
by Katie Bayerl
G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers

Tess da Costa is a saint — a hand-to-god, miracle-producing saint. At least that's what the people in her hometown of New Avon, Massachusetts, seem to believe. And when Tess suddenly and tragically passes away, her small city begins feverishly petitioning the Pope to make Tess's sainthood official. Tess's mother is ecstatic over the fervor, while her sister Callie, the one who knew Tess best, is disgusted - overcome with the feeling that her sister is being stolen from her all over again.

The fervor for Tess's sainthood only grows when Ana Langone, a local girl who's been missing for six months, is found alive at the foot of one of Tess's shrines. It's the final straw for Callie.

With the help of Tess's secret boyfriend Danny, Callie's determined to prove that Tess was something far more important than a saint; she was her sister, her best friend and a girl in love with a boy. But Callie's investigation uncovers much more than she bargained for: a hidden diary, old family secrets, and even the disturbing truth behind Ana's kidnapping.

Freya is the myth. Freya is the legend. And she’s about to make one hell of a comeback.

There's far more to Sara Vanadi than meets the eye. In her prime, she was Freya, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, war, and death - though that past hardly seems to matter now. For an ancient goddess in the 21st century, true believers - and the strength they bring - are painfully hard to find. But when a new, rising power threatens to remake the world by bending the divine to its will, Sara realizes her days of hiding have ended, and a chance to claw her way out of the history books has arrived. She'll just need new clothes and a manicure before she gets started.

Blending elements of fantasy and sci-fi in a modern-world setting, the first novel in this new young adult series is perfect for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Neil Gaiman’s American Gods.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?
