13 Announcing The Compelling Reads Tour, Plus a Giveaway of Kat Zhang's ECHOES OF US

I have some very exciting news. In fact, I still can't believe it's happening, but I'm going on tour . . . with some of my favorite authors. Of all time. Seriously. It's way past awesome.

Check out the destinations and event descriptions below this week's giveaway. But that's not even the complete list yet! I don't want to be so close to Atlanta without stopping in to see Kat Zhang, who was one of the finalists in our very first contest here on Adventures and is now about to release the final book in her amazing dystopian trilogy!!! And as long as the tour is going to Atlanta, we may as well add some more locations in South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, right? : )

THIS WEEK'S GIVEAWAY

In honor of Kat's upcoming release, she is offering two copies of the ARC of ECHOES OF US. If you haven't read the first two books in The Hybrid Chronicles, seriously, what are you waiting for? WHAT'S LEFT OF ME and ONCE WE WERE are heart-pounding dystopian adventure stories that tackle thought-provoking topics in fascinating, eye-opening new ways. And they are so beautifully written, you'll be immersed from start to finish. I can't tell you enough how much I love this series!

Echoes of Us
by Kat Zhang
Hardcover, Harpercollins

To change the world, I may lose everything

All Eva ever wanted was the chance to be herself. But in the Americas, to be hybrid—to share your body with a second soul—is not tolerated past childhood. Now Eva and Addie, her sister soul, are constantly on the move, hiding from the officials who seek to capture them. But the tide is changing. A revolution is brewing, and people are starting to question the hybrids' mistreatment.

Then Marion, an ambitious reporter, offers Eva and Addie a daring proposal: If they go undercover and film the wretched conditions of a hybrid institution, she will not only rescue them, she'll find a way to free Jackson, the boy Addie loves. It's risky, and Eva will have to leave Ryan and her friends behind, but if she succeeds, it could also tip the scales forever and lead to hybrid freedom.

As Eva and Addie walk into danger, they cling to each other and the hope of a better future. But the price they might pay is higher than they ever could have imagined.

  4. Definitely just getting away from the city and every responsibility helps me :D!

  5. First, I take a step away from what I'm writing at the moment. I'll listen to some music and/or go on Pinterest. Or I'll watch Youtube videos. My current WIP is in large part inspired by my love of/for dance, so dance videos, both professional (or SYTYCD) or from my own dance shows, are always a good way for me to be reinspired. Also, for this WIP, going to dance always helps! :)

  6. I have to take a walk to clear my mind. Most of the time, if I start to think of my story while I run, I get an answer! It happened this morning as I needed deeper emotional connection for my POV character.

  7. I don't push myself to keep going or re-inspire myself in any way. I usually take a break, and sometimes a new inspiration just springs to my mind as I'm doing a mundane task and my mind wanders.

  8. COMPELLING READS is going to be a FABULOUS Tour! I'm so honored to be a part of it!

P.S. I walk every day. I'm addicted. I have to get out of the house and away from my desk and soak up the fresh air and sunshine. But early in the morning before it's *too* horribly hot. :-)

  9. Your tour sounds awesome. Congrats!

  10. Of course, after I move away from the East Coast this tour comes. Wish I could go! I try to find inspiration anywhere I can. I've trained myself to "think in poetry", and it helps me to be more creative.
