5 Pick Your Own YA Novel Winner and YA Pick and Mix 12/14

Do any of you remember my strange streak of spooky dates with BEHOLDEN?  Well, the streak continues. I turned in my first round of edits on Friday the 13th, then turned in the line edits on Halloween. Yesterday was another Friday the 13th, and it was my editor's last day at Simon Pulse. Fortunately, we are in copy edits now, so her job was mostly done, but it is so sad to see her go! And it's almost impossible to envision doing Books two and three with another editor, I know it will be all right, and my publisher has been amazing from start to finish, but it's something I didn't see coming! It's a good thing that BEHOLDEN is about curses and wishes and superstition, because I do find all the  dates a little spooky.

What about you? Are you superstitious about Friday the 13th?

  1. I'm sure your edits will be great and that you'll figure out books 2 & 3. I hope you share what you learn about writing a sequel.

Love the quote about doubt. And I was just talking to my daughter about that as it relates to her swimming. And I love the 13th of the month because she was born 4-13. Changes your whole perspective on it.
