Bucket List of Finn Patrick, local comedian and best friend
of INSOMNIA's main character, Parker.
by J.R. Johansson
The main character of INSOMNIA, Parker’s bucket list would pretty much be:
1 – Live as long as possible
2 – Hurt as few people as I can on the way out
Which, while honest, doesn’t invite much discussion. So instead, I thought I’d go with Finn. He’s Parker’s best friend, much closer to the normal end of the spectrum and he always makes me laugh.
FINN PATRICK’S BUCKET LIST
1 – Kiss one of the cheerleaders, preferably in uniform, preferably NOT the one Parker said is in to cats.
2 – Find a way to reenact and record scenes from my favorite kung fu movies.
3 – Make sure my sister, Addie, ends up with a guy who will be good to her.
4 – Create my own line of funny t-shirts. Sell them. Make millions. (this may be three goals, not sure)
5 – Get my freaking car out of the shop (FINALLY).
6 – Better yet, get a NEW car.
7 – Help save my friend. I need someone to help me do all this crap.
About the Book
Her eyes saved his life. Her dreams released his darkness.
After four years of sleeplessness, high school junior Parker Chipp can’t take much more. Every night, instead of sleeping, he enters the dreams of the last person he’s made eye contact with. If he doesn’t sleep soon, Parker will die.
Then he meets Mia. Her dreams, calm and beautifully uncomplicated, allow him blissful rest that’s utterly addictive. But what starts out as a chance meeting turns into an obsession; Parker’s furious desire for what he needs pushes him to extremes he never thought he’d go. And when someone begins terrorizing Mia with twisted death threats, Parker’s memory blackouts leave him doubting his own innocence.
